Maison Stella & Suzie: About the Brand and My Try-On Haul
Bonjour mes Amours! I thought it would be fun to start a new series called ‘Amour for the Brand’ where I share brands I love in more detail, diving into their story, values, and of course, a try-on haul to show you how their pieces fit into real life! I hope you love this series and that it helps you discover new gems for your wardrobe, each with that effortless French je ne sais quoi!
Allez, on y va!
Bienvenue to Maison Stella & Suzie
Maison Stella & Suzie is more than just a clothing brand, it’s a love story woven into fashion. Founded in 2017 by Margaux Minguez-Lahana with the support of her husband Max, the Maison was born from a lifelong passion for fashion and the art of creation.
The Maison began by curating exclusive Sunday capsules through an online concept store. Very quickly, love for fashion grew into something more: not only finding beautiful pieces, but creating them. Within a year, Stella & Suzie Création was born, marking the transition from curation to creation.
By December 2019, the first in-house label was released. By June 2020, the concept store disappeared to make way for 100% original collections. And in September 2020, the brand officially became Maison Stella & Suzie, a true creative house dedicated to feminine, bohemian, and chic fashion.
The name itself carries deep meaning: Stella for Margaux’s grandmother Esther, her guiding light, and Suzie for Max, inspired by the name of his very first bass guitar - a tribute to the music woven into their love story and into the Maison itself!
Today, Maison Stella & Suzie has grown into a team of more than forty passionate creatives. Their journey includes opening boutiques in Paris, Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Aix-en-Provence, alongside a presence at Printemps Haussmann. With each step, the Maison has remained true to its foundations: monthly capsule collections that celebrate femininity, color, and timeless details, crafted in collaboration with environmentally conscious partners.
Nearly six years on, the Maison continues to evolve, expanding into new product categories like knitwear while keeping its roots firmly in vibrant prints, joyful colors, and the signature French je ne sais quoi that makes each piece feel personal.
The Try-On Haul
For this haul, I chose 5 pieces and styled them into a mini capsule. What I love about Maison Stella & Suzie is how easily their designs mix and match to create different looks. With just a few key items, I was able to put together outfits that feel fresh, versatile, and timeless - exactly what a capsule wardrobe is meant to be!
A quick note: these pieces are from last month’s capsule, which has nearly sold out! A true sign of how beloved their collections are - and that’s the beauty of Stella & Suzie, each capsule is limited, which makes the pieces feel even more special. Make sure to mark your calendar for their next monthly Sunday drop so you don’t miss out! You can also click the “notify me” button on their site since they occasionally do restocks, I’ve linked everything in case!
White Blouse + Brown Pants
There’s something effortlessly chic about pairing a romantic blouse with tailored trousers. This look balances softness with structure, making it ideal for coffee meetings or a polished day out. The delicate details on the blouse feel undeniably French, while the rich brown trousers ground the outfit.
Fit Notes (Blouse): I’m wearing a Medium in the blouse. The tops run a little oversized, so you can stick with your usual size or size down if you prefer a more fitted look. I went with my regular size, but I could have worn a Small as well. I don’t mind the oversized vibe at all. What really makes this blouse stand out are the embroidery details. I’m obsessed with how subtle yet special they are, adding that extra French charm.
White Blouse + Denim
A fresh twist on a classic. Worn with straight denim, the blouse feels casual yet elevated, perfect for a bookstore browse or a relaxed café stop. It’s the kind of everyday combination that feels both wearable and refined.
Fit Notes (Denim Bottoms): I chose a size 40 (US 8/10) based on the brand’s measurements. I have an hourglass shape with curves through the hips and seat, and I really liked how this size fit me, the length is also chef’s kiss (I’m 5’4” for reference). The denim is great quality, and I especially love how this wash matches the denim top perfectly for a chic denim on denim look (see below)!
Denim + Denim
Head-to-toe denim always makes a statement, but this embroidered denim top softens the look. Worn with relaxed jeans, it creates a modern take on French casual: unfussy, cozy, and chic. Add boots and you’re ready for a day of errands or an afternoon stroll.
Fit Notes (Denim Top): I’m wearing a Medium, and I’m completely obsessed with the embroidery on this piece. It’s such a thoughtful detail and really makes the top stand out. The cut is slightly relaxed, which makes it easy to layer or wear open with a tank underneath.
Denim Top + Brown Pants
Swapping jeans for tailored trousers instantly elevates the denim shirt. It’s the perfect example of how Stella & Suzie pieces move seamlessly between casual and polished, making them true capsule staples.
Fit Notes (Brown Pants): I went with a 40 (US 8/10) for this first haul, I wasn’t sure which size I’d prefer, but this one turned out to be perfect! The fit is relaxed yet flattering, making them comfortable for day-to-day wear, and I’ve already been reaching for them nonstop. They’re easy to style with everything, especially this fall since chocolate brown is the color of the season!
The Scarf That Changes Everything
One of my favorite pieces from this haul is the Maison Stella & Suzie scarf, it’s proof of how one accessory can completely shift the mood of an outfit!
Around the Neck: Adds a playful pop of color to denim on denim and ties the look together with a feminine touch.
In the Hair: Instantly romantic, especially paired with the white blouse, it channels that effortless French charm.
On the Purse: A subtle way to bring the print into your everyday, adding personality to a classic handbag.
This scarf is the kind of detail you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again, whether to finish an outfit or to add a little poetry to the everyday.
Overall Sizing Notes
In general, I recommend going with your usual size. For pieces with a naturally oversized cut, you can size down if you prefer a more tailored look. Personally, I love the relaxed fit and found it really comfortable for everyday wear!
The Heart of the Maison: Thoughtful Creation
Beyond the beauty of each piece, what makes Maison Stella & Suzie truly stand out is the way every collection is created. All designs are conceived and developed in Toulouse in the South of France, where Margaux, Max, and their team bring each capsule to life with creativity and care!
Sustainable production lies at the center of the Maison’s philosophy. Since 2021, they have shifted to releasing just one capsule a month in limited quantities. This deliberate approach encourages mindful consumption, giving each piece the space to feel special while ensuring that quality always comes before quantity.
The Maison also places immense importance on its partners. They collaborate with trusted, responsible suppliers who share her commitment to ethics and excellence. Most of the production is proudly European, highlighting the expertise of different regions: Turkish ateliers for their denim work, Indian artisans for their embroidery, and Portuguese workshops for their leather shoes. Every choice is made with precision, from fabrics that meet Oeko-Tex standards to organic cotton that drapes beautifully and lasts season after season.
Little by little, the goal is for all production to be fully European. By working with partners closer to home, Maison Stella & Suzie not only supports traditional craftsmanship but also reduces its carbon footprint, reinforcing its vision of fashion that is both beautiful and responsible.
Why Maison Stella & Suzie Belongs in Your Wardrobe
What began as Margaux and Max’s love story with fashion has blossomed into a Maison that embodies both creativity and conscience. From Toulouse to their growing family of boutiques, each capsule carries the essence of French femininity: joyful prints, timeless details, and pieces designed to be lived in season after season.
For me, wearing Maison Stella & Suzie is more than just putting on a blouse or tying a scarf. It’s about slipping into clothes that tell a story: of family, of craftsmanship, of thoughtful creation.
It’s about knowing that each piece was designed with care, produced responsibly, and made to become part of your everyday life.
Whether you fall in love with the crisp white blouses, the versatile denim, or a scarf that can transform your entire look, Maison Stella & Suzie offers something far greater than fleeting trends. It offers wardrobe staples with a soul, clothes that remind us fashion can be both beautiful and meaningful!
And maybe that’s the true je ne sais quoi: not just style, but the story and care stitched into every piece…
Stay tuned for their monthly Sunday drops! Each capsule is limited, unique, and worth the wait!
