A First Look at the New Emilie Handbag: Inside Le Tanneur's Fall 2026 Collection
Le Tanneur has officially started unveiling its Fall 2026 collection, introducing new handbags, thoughtful seasonal colors, and elegant additions to some of the Maison's most recognizable designs.
As the first pieces from the collection begin to arrive, I've had the opportunity to spend the past few weeks carrying one of its newest handbags, the Emilie Medium in Fossil Gray. Experiencing the bag before the collection fully unfolds has made it especially exciting to see these first releases come to life.
Today, I wanted to take you through the collection, share my experience carrying the new Emilie, and highlight a few other pieces that immediately caught my attention.
About Le Tanneur
Founded in 1898, Le Tanneur has spent more than a century creating leather goods rooted in French craftsmanship and timeless design. While each new collection introduces fresh colors and silhouettes, what I've always appreciated is that the brand never loses sight of what makes it so recognizable.
Earlier this summer, I had the opportunity to visit Le Tanneur's flagship boutique on Boulevard des Capucines in Paris. During my visit, I learned more about the Maison's history, discovered its latest collections, and spent time with the team discussing everything from the iconic Sans Couture collection to the craftsmanship behind many of its signature handbags.
That experience gave me an even greater appreciation for the brand and made it especially exciting to now see the Fall 2026 collection begin to arrive.

The New Emilie Medium in Fossil Gray
When Le Tanneur first shared its Fall 2026 collection, there was one bag I found myself coming back to again and again: the Emilie Medium in Fossil Gray.
This is actually my second handbag from Le Tanneur. Earlier this year, I added the canvas and leather Emilie Double Flap to my wardrobe, and it quickly became one of the bags I reached for most throughout spring and summer. So when I saw the new Medium Emilie in Fossil Gray, I was especially excited to experience another interpretation of the Emilie collection.
After carrying it over the past weeks, I can honestly say it's become one of those handbags that feels right at home from the very first wear. One of the first things that caught my attention was the color.
Fossil Gray offers a soft interpretation of a classic neutral, and paired with Le Tanneur's signature light gold hardware, the combination feels incredibly elegant. It's refined, versatile, and brings a beautiful warmth that immediately stood out to me.
What I've loved most, though, is how effortlessly it elevates every look. Over the past few weeks, I've styled it with linen separates, silk dresses, and other effortless summer pieces, and each time it has brought a beautiful sense of polish and elegance to my outfit. It has quickly become one of those handbags I instinctively reach for, complementing so many of the pieces I already love wearing.
To me, that's one of the hallmarks of a timeless handbag.
I always look for pieces that evolve alongside my wardrobe and continue to feel just as relevant season after season. While I've loved carrying the Medium Emilie throughout summer, I can already picture it styled with soft knitwear, suede loafers, darker denim, and a classic camel trench as autumn arrives. I also love adding a scarf or a favorite bag charm throughout the year, giving handbags a slightly different personality with each season.
Having now carried two different Emilie handbags, one in canvas and leather and now this beautiful all-leather version, I've come to appreciate the consistency in Le Tanneur's craftsmanship. Each bag has its own personality, yet they share the same thoughtful attention to detail that first drew me to the Maison.
The Medium Emilie feels polished, elegant, and genuinely enjoyable to carry. From the beautifully structured silhouette to the thoughtfully organized interior, every detail feels intentional, making it a handbag that's as practical as it is elegant for everyday life.
For me, that's what makes the Emilie such a beautiful addition to Le Tanneur's Fall 2026 collection. It captures everything I've come to appreciate about the Maison: timeless design, beautiful craftsmanship, and handbags that naturally become part of your everyday wardrobe.
More From the Fall 2026 Collection
While the Emilie was the piece I was excited to carry, it certainly wasn't the only new arrival that caught my attention!
The New Color Palette
Alongside Fossil Gray, Le Tanneur also introduced Steel Blue, another shade I immediately found myself drawn to.
There is a quiet elegance to both colors that feels especially fitting for the season ahead. Fossil Gray brings a soft warmth to a neutral wardrobe, while Steel Blue offers a subtle touch of color that remains effortlessly versatile. Both pair beautifully with crisp whites, cream tailoring, linen, and silk today before transitioning naturally alongside knitwear, suede, and richer autumn textures as the seasons begin to change.
Together, they feel like thoughtful additions to the Maison's palette, colors that are easy to imagine reaching for season after season. It's these subtle evolutions that make each new Le Tanneur collection feel so exciting to discover.
The New Silhouettes
Alongside its new color palette, Le Tanneur has also introduced several new handbag silhouettes, two of which immediately stood out to me.
The first is the Félicie Tote. Crafted in smooth leather with clean architectural lines and generous proportions, it feels effortlessly suited to everything from the workday to weekend travel. Elegant, understated, and beautifully functional, it feels like one of those bags that naturally becomes part of an everyday wardrobe.
The Celeste Medium Hobo was another immediate favorite.
I've always gravitated toward shoulder bags with softer silhouettes, and the Celeste strikes a beautiful balance between relaxed and polished. Its gently curved shape gives it an effortless elegance that feels equally at home with everyday denim, tailored separates, flowing dresses, or elevated evening looks.
If I were choosing another handbag from the Fall 2026 collection, the Celeste would undoubtedly be at the top of my list. I have a feeling it's going to become one of the standout pieces of the season.

Final Thoughts
One of the things I've always appreciated about Le Tanneur is how each new collection feels like a natural continuation of the Maison's story. Every season introduces something new while remaining unmistakably Le Tanneur, a balance that has made the Maison such a pleasure to follow over the years.
After visiting the flagship boutique in Paris earlier this summer and spending time with one of the collection's newest arrivals over the past few weeks, it has been especially exciting to see the Fall 2026 collection officially begin to arrive.
While the Medium Emilie in Fossil Gray has undoubtedly become one of my favorite pieces from the collection so far, I'm looking forward to seeing how readers style these new arrivals and which pieces become favorites throughout the season.
If these first arrivals are any indication, Fall 2026 is off to a beautiful start for Le Tanneur!
