This summer, I thought it would be fun to share a few French handbag brands creating beautiful colors that caught my eye during my recent travels through France!
As someone who typically gravitates toward neutral handbags, think shades of tan, camel, chocolate brown, cream, and black, I wasn't expecting to find myself so drawn to color! Yet while exploring boutiques and ateliers throughout Paris, I kept stopping to admire soft greens, powder blues, blush pinks, buttery yellows, and even vibrant oranges.
What struck me most was how thoughtfully many French brands approach color. These shades felt elegant, timeless, and versatile.
The beautiful yellow collection at Ateliers Auguste immediately caught my eye, while the Orange Brûlé shades at Fleuron completely changed my perspective on colorful handbags. I also discovered beautiful soft greens, powder blues, and blush pinks that felt fresh for summer while still integrating effortlessly into a timeless wardrobe.

From boutique discoveries in Paris to a few colorful favorites currently on my radar, these are the French handbag brands inspiring me this summer!
I was so happy to visit the Ateliers Auguste boutique in Le Marais during this trip to Paris. More on that visit soon, stay tuned! It was such a pleasure to meet the team, explore the collection in person, and get a closer look at both their current summer collection and a sneak peek at what's coming this fall.
One of the highlights of the visit was seeing some of the brand's seasonal colors up close. While I've owned and loved my Monceau Baguette for quite some time, this was my first opportunity to experience the full collection together in one place. The team was incredibly kind and welcoming, making the visit feel even more special.
This season, Ateliers Auguste embraced a beautiful yellow that instantly caught my eye. Bright yet incredibly wearable, it felt playful, cheerful, and perfect for summer. I could immediately picture it paired with white linen, denim, and warm-weather neutrals for vacations, weekend outings, or everyday wear.
While the yellow was definitely the standout color for me this season, I also loved seeing the brand's ivory and taupe shades in person. These timeless neutrals feel elegant, sophisticated, and incredibly easy to incorporate into a wardrobe year-round. I also spotted some beautiful powder blue and soft pink pieces from previous collections while visiting the boutique. If you've been wanting to try Ateliers Auguste, you'll be happy to know these colors are currently on sale, making it a wonderful opportunity to discover the brand while taking advantage of a discount on some truly beautiful styles.

While I originally went in with a specific bag in mind, I did enjoy noticing a few of the seasonal colors throughout the boutique. Polène is often associated with timeless neutrals, but some of the softer shades caught my attention and felt especially beautiful for spring and summer.
While their classic camel, taupe, and chalk shades remain beautiful staples, this visit definitely encouraged me to explore more of the brand's seasonal colors. Seeing them together throughout the boutique gave me a greater appreciation for how thoughtfully the brand approaches color and how effortlessly these shades integrate into everyday styling.
I was also excited to learn about some of Polène's upcoming arrivals, including a beautiful woven style in a new seasonal shade that is currently available for preorder. One of the highlights of my time in Paris was visiting the Le Tanneur flagship boutique. I'll be sharing much more from that experience soon, but it was such a pleasure to see the brand's collection in person and learn more about its craftsmanship, heritage, and design process.
The Émilie Small Double Flap in Canvas and Leather actually came along with me on this trip, and it quickly became one of my most reached-for bags. 4. Fleuron
I was also fortunate enough to visit the Fleuron boutique during my time in Paris and absolutely loved seeing the collection firsthand. The store was filled with so many beautiful colors, and it was such a different experience seeing the bags up close rather than through a screen.
One of my favorite parts of the visit was chatting with the team about some of their current favorite colors. They pointed out a beautiful new Limonade yellow and a stunning new Orange Brûlé, both of which immediately caught my attention.
I have to admit, the orange completely surprised me. As someone who typically sticks to neutral handbags, the color instantly caught my attention. The shade felt rich, sophisticated, and surprisingly versatile. It was one of those colors that instantly makes you rethink your entire handbag collection.
I also found myself appreciating just how well Fleuron approaches color in general. Their shades feel intentional and elevated rather than trendy, making them easy to imagine wearing for years to come.
Throughout this trip, I reached for my Mini Swann in Sable constantly. It's one of my most-used handbags and accompanied me throughout much of my time in France. While Sable is a neutral, I think it's also a beautiful option for summer thanks to its lighter tone and versatility. It paired effortlessly with dresses, denim, linen, and everything in between.

Visiting Fauvette was truly one of the highlights of my time in Paris. I had the opportunity to meet founder Claire, who is such a warm, talented, and inspiring person. We spent time chatting about the brand, her journey, and the craftsmanship behind each piece, and she generously showed me parts of her atelier and creative process. It was such a special experience and one I'll be sharing much more about soon.
One of my favorite parts of the visit was seeing the bags in person and hearing Claire talk through some of her favorite styles and colors. While there were so many beautiful options throughout the collection, I walked away with a new favorite: Vert Amande.
The color is absolutely stunning. Soft, elegant, and surprisingly versatile, it feels like the perfect way to introduce color into a wardrobe while still maintaining a timeless aesthetic. Paired with Fauvette's signature flower clasp detail, it instantly caught my attention and is definitely the next color I'm hoping to add to my own collection.
I also loved seeing the beautiful pink and cream options throughout the collection. During our conversation, Claire shared that she recently got married and created a cream version of one of her bags to complement her wedding look. If you're currently planning a wedding, or know someone who is, this is absolutely a brand worth exploring. The cream shade feels elegant, timeless, and special enough for the wedding day while remaining versatile enough to enjoy long after the celebration.
I personally own the Adèle in black and absolutely love it. It's one of those bags that feels timeless and versatile while still offering beautiful details that make it feel special every time you carry it. Seeing all of the colors in person only made me appreciate the collection even more.
Claire has also kindly shared a 10% off code with us if you've been eyeing one of her styles. The discount should be automatically applied at checkout, but you can also use code MAEVAWITHAMOUR.

During my time in Paris, I also stopped into the Lancaster boutique on Rue Saint-Honoré and ended up leaving with a bag that had been on my wishlist for quite some time: the perfect vanity-style purse.
I've been looking for a bag specifically for events, special occasions, and wedding guest outfits I have coming up, and this one checked every box. The shape felt elegant and polished, while the soft light pink-nude color made it incredibly versatile. It's the kind of bag that feels special enough for dressier occasions while still being neutral enough to pair with a variety of outfits.

Another stop during my time in Paris was the Pourchet boutique on Avenue de l'Opéra. It was such a pleasure to see the collection in person and get a closer look at the craftsmanship, colors, and materials that make the brand so beloved.
Founded in 1903, Pourchet is one of France's oldest leather goods houses, and seeing the collection in person gave me an even greater appreciation for the brand's heritage. One thing that immediately stood out to me was the quality. The leather felt beautiful in person, and many of the bags had a refined, elevated feel while still remaining approachable and easy to wear.
While browsing the boutique, I was particularly drawn to the Blossom collection. While I didn't have the opportunity to visit one of Elleme's points of sale during this trip, it's a brand I couldn't leave out of this edit! Their color palette immediately caught my attention and perfectly reflects the soft, sophisticated approach to color that inspired this entire article.
Known for their modern silhouettes and sculptural designs, Elleme does a beautiful job incorporating color in a way that still feels elegant and timeless.
