A Month in France: A Season of Inspiration

Over the past month, I've traded California mornings for Paris cafés, wandered through the South of France, attended a beautiful wedding in the countryside, explored Bordeaux wine country, and spent countless hours discovering the brands, boutiques, and places that continue to inspire me year after year.

As someone who grew up in France and now calls California home, these trips are always a chance to reconnect with the people and places I love most. This journey took me from family gatherings and celebrations in the South of France, to the surrounding vineyards and villages of Bordeaux, and finally to Paris, where many days were spent exploring boutiques, meeting founders, discovering new brands, and gathering inspiration for the stories ahead. Between time spent with family, long lunches with friends, and days dedicated to exploring, this month left me feeling inspired, grateful, and excited to share the stories ahead.

France has always been one of my greatest sources of inspiration, not only for style, but for craftsmanship, creativity, and the appreciation of well-made things.

Of course, the month wasn't all boutiques and brand discoveries.

There were long drives through vineyard-lined roads, solo café dates in Paris, afternoons spent wandering beautiful villages, and the realization that hauling a month's worth of outfits up several flights of stairs to a Parisian apartment with no elevator should probably be considered an Olympic sport! The glamorous moments are always fun, but it's often the little moments in between that make a trip memorable.

While the destinations changed throughout the month, a common thread followed me everywhere: a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, and thoughtful design. Whether I was exploring a small village in the South of France, wandering through Bordeaux, or spending the day in Paris, I found inspiration in the details, the independent boutiques, beautifully made pieces, historic architecture, and the people dedicated to preserving their craft.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing the French brands that caught my attention, the pieces that earned a place in my suitcase, the handbags that joined my collection, and the boutique discoveries that made this trip memorable. I'll be taking you inside ateliers and flagship stores, sharing conversations with founders and brand teams, and highlighting some of the craftsmanship and stories behind the pieces we love.

I'll also be sharing fresh style guides inspired by destinations across Europe, wardrobe ideas for the season ahead, and thoughtfully curated brand lists featuring some of the discoveries that stood out throughout the trip!

Whether you're planning your own trip to France, looking to discover new brands, or simply searching for a little inspiration, I hope you'll enjoy following along!

Consider this the first postcard from a month spent gathering inspiration across France!

There's much more to come and I can’t wait to share it all with you!

With Amour,

M.
