European Handbag Brands: New Arrivals & Currently Loving

There have been so many beautiful handbags catching my eye lately! From exciting new arrivals and fresh interpretations of signature styles to more distinctive designs and a few pieces that have recently made their way onto my wishlist, I've been enjoying discovering what's new from some of my favorite European handbag brands.

Last month, I shared a selection of French handbag brands and their October new arrivals, but this week, I wanted to broaden the edit to include a few lovely brands from across Europe. Of course, there are still some French favorites in the mix, alongside other European labels whose collections and designs have particularly caught my attention.

With the holiday season approaching, I've also found myself drawn to more playful silhouettes, beautiful satin finishes, and unique details that feel particularly lovely for festive occasions. Alongside these more special pieces, there are still plenty of timeless everyday handbags that I can easily picture wearing throughout the season and beyond.

For this week's edit, I've brought together a selection of handbags that stood out to me, including recent releases, new variations of familiar favorites, and a few pieces on my ever-growing wishlist. I hope you enjoy exploring these European handbag finds and perhaps discover a new favorite along the way!

Founded in London in 2017 by Mireia Llusia-Lindh, DeMellier is a British handbag brand known for its elegant silhouettes, thoughtful details, and commitment to responsible craftsmanship. Designed in London and handcrafted in Europe using sustainably sourced materials, the collections combine timeless style with a contemporary approach to everyday handbags. The brand also has a lovely charitable initiative, funding vaccines and treatments for children in need with every piece sold.

DeMellier has been on my radar for quite some time, and I particularly appreciate the brand's ability to create handbags that feel both modern and timeless. From beautifully structured everyday totes to more refined shoulder bags, its collections offer a lovely balance of practicality, elegance, and interesting design details.

Styles I'm Loving:

DeMellier recently introduced the Sloane collection, and these new styles immediately caught my attention!

  • The Sloane: I absolutely love the sculptural silhouette of this new design, particularly the softly folded panels and distinctive brushed gold-tone hardware. Its beautifully structured shape feels incredibly chic and timeless, while the spacious interior offers plenty of room for everyday essentials, including a 13-inch laptop. I also love that the shoulder strap can be tucked inside to transform it into an oversized clutch, making it such a versatile piece for different occasions.

  • The Midi Sloane: Featuring the same elegant architectural design in a smaller silhouette, the Midi Sloane is another style that's caught my eye. I particularly love its compact proportions and the beautiful selection of colors and materials, including leather and suede. With room for everyday essentials and the option to carry it as a shoulder bag or oversized clutch, it's a lovely style that I can easily picture wearing with a tailored coat, soft knitwear, or a beautiful holiday outfit.

Founded in Paris in 2016 by three siblings, Polène is a French handbag brand celebrated for its sculptural silhouettes, beautiful craftsmanship, and distinctive approach to leather goods. Designed in Paris and handcrafted by artisans in Ubrique, Spain, the collections combine elegant simplicity with organic shapes, graceful curves, and thoughtful details.

Polène has been one of my favorite French handbag brands for quite some time, and I'm particularly fond of the Cyme and Mokki silhouettes. I personally own the Cyme Mini, which has become a lovely addition to my handbag collection.

I also had the opportunity to visit Polène's Paris boutique during one of my trips home to France. You can discover more about the brand and explore my boutique visit here!

Styles I'm Loving:

Polène recently introduced its beautiful new Felted Edition, giving two of its beloved signature silhouettes a cozy seasonal twist. Available in both regular and mini sizes, the Cyme and Mokki feature a lovely combination of soft wool and leather, bringing warmth and texture to these timeless designs.

  • Cyme & Cyme Mini Felted Edition: The Cyme has always been one of my favorite Polène designs, and I absolutely love this new interpretation! Its signature sculptural shape is beautifully complemented by soft woolen panels, creating a lovely contrast with the leather details. Available in both sizes, the Felted Edition brings such a cozy, sophisticated feel to this timeless silhouette. I can easily picture it styled with an oversized wool coat, beautiful knitwear, and winter wardrobe essentials.

  • Mokki & Mokki Mini Felted Edition: Another longtime favorite, the Mokki looks especially lovely with its new felted finish. Available in both regular and mini sizes, the combination of smooth leather and softly textured wool adds a beautiful dimension to its structured silhouette. The layered, tone-on-tone design feels particularly elegant for the colder months, and I especially love how the contrasting materials bring out the bag's distinctive shape.

Founded in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2013 by husband-and-wife duo Guy and Leeanne Hundleby, Strathberry is a Scottish luxury handbag brand known for its elegant silhouettes, minimalist designs, and distinctive Music Bar hardware. Designed in Scotland and handcrafted by skilled artisans in Spain, the collections combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, creating beautiful handbags intended to be cherished for years to come.

Strathberry is another European handbag brand I've been following for quite some time, and I've always appreciated its refined approach to design. I particularly love how the brand incorporates its signature hardware into different silhouettes, giving each collection a recognizable character while exploring new shapes and proportions.

Styles I'm Loving:

Strathberry recently introduced the Nest collection, a beautiful new family of handbags featuring soft, curved silhouettes, folded leather details, and a fresh interpretation of the brand's iconic Music Bar hardware. Available in both shoulder and crossbody styles, these new designs have definitely caught my eye!

  • Nest Shoulder: I absolutely love the softly curved shape of the Nest Shoulder, particularly the folded front panel and elegant gold-tone hardware. Its relaxed silhouette feels incredibly chic and timeless, while the beautiful proportions make it such a lovely everyday handbag. I'm especially drawn to the suede variations, which bring an added richness and texture to the design. I can easily picture it styled with a classic trench coat, tailored trousers, or a cozy knit.

  • Nest Crossbody: The Nest Crossbody offers another beautiful interpretation of the collection's signature design in a compact, versatile silhouette. I particularly love its curved flap, delicate hardware, and understated elegance. With thoughtfully organized compartments for everyday essentials, it's a lovely option for days when you want something practical and polished. The beautiful selection of colors and materials makes this new style even more tempting, and I can easily imagine it becoming a favorite for everyday outings, coffee dates, and weekends exploring the city.

Founded in Warsaw, Poland, in 2014 by Zofia Chylak, Chylak is a Polish handbag brand known for its distinctive silhouettes, beautiful materials, and appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. Before establishing her namesake label, Zofia trained as an art historian specializing in the Northern Renaissance, and her fascination with the history of clothing continues to inspire her designs today. Each handbag is crafted in Poland using beautiful leathers and hardware sourced from Italy, with a wonderful attention to detail.

One of the things I love most about Chylak is how original its handbags are! From vintage-inspired shapes and interesting textures to beautiful embroidery and handcrafted details, there's always something that catches my eye. I also really appreciate how the brand celebrates Polish heritage and traditional craftsmanship, which makes some of its more special designs even more fascinating to discover.

Styles I'm Loving:

There are quite a few Chylak handbags that have caught my attention lately, particularly the vintage-inspired styles and some beautiful pieces from the brand's Heritage collection.

  • Shoulder “Vintage” Clasp Bag: I've always loved a good vintage-inspired handbag, and this one is particularly lovely! Inspired by purses from the 1940s and 1950s, it has such an elegant, structured silhouette with a beautiful gold clasp. I'm especially drawn to the black eel-embossed leather and the lynx-inspired print, which gives the classic shape a little extra personality. I can easily picture either one styled with a beautiful coat, tailored trousers, or a simple knit and jeans.

  • Bag with Beadwork “Silesian Flowers”: How beautiful is this design? I absolutely love the black floral beadwork against the satin, and the story behind it makes it even more special. The embroidery takes inspiration from traditional Polish folk dress in the Cieszyn region, with each bag hand-embroidered by artisan Joanna Babińska. It's such a lovely combination of fashion and craftsmanship, and I think it would be absolutely gorgeous for holiday dinners, evenings out, or any occasion that calls for something a little special.

  • Handbag with Lace Overlay: This is another design that immediately caught my eye! I love the contrast between the structured black leather and the delicate lace, which gives the bag such a romantic, almost vintage feel. What makes it particularly interesting is that the lace is handmade by Polish artisan Jadwiga Śliwa using a traditional technique from Bobowa, with each overlay taking approximately 40 hours to create. I find these little details so fascinating, and I love the idea of carrying a handbag that celebrates such beautiful artistry and craftsmanship.

Founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2012 by Paulina Liffner von Sydow, Liffner is a Scandinavian handbag brand known for its refined silhouettes, playful details, and appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. With an approach to design rooted in expressive minimalism, the collections combine timeless shapes with interesting textures and unexpected details. Each handbag is handcrafted in small batches at a family-run atelier outside Florence, Italy, using thoughtfully sourced materials and traditional techniques.

Liffner has been on my radar for quite some time, and I've always loved how the brand brings a little personality to its timeless designs. Lately, I've been particularly drawn to its beautiful selection of evening bags and clutches. With the holiday season approaching, the rich jewel tones, luxurious velvet finishes, and playful tassel details feel especially lovely for festive dressing. There are so many gorgeous options that have caught my eye!

Styles I'm Loving:

  • Tassel Pouch: How beautiful is this little bag? I absolutely love its soft, slouchy silhouette and the oversized tassel, which adds such a fun and elegant touch. The black rope handle is another lovely detail that gives the design a little extra character. I can easily picture it paired with a beautiful silk dress, tailored evening look, or something festive for the holidays. It's one of those pieces that can really make an outfit feel special!

  • Pushlock Clutch: This is another Liffner style I've been loving, particularly with all the beautiful finishes available! From rich velvet and croc-embossed leather to playful spotted patterns, there's something so chic about its simple shape and distinctive metallic pushlock. I especially love how the different textures give each version its own personality. Whether styled with a classic black dress, a beautiful satin skirt, or tailored trousers, I think this would make such a lovely evening bag for holiday parties and special occasions.

  • Paper Clutch: I also have such a soft spot for beautifully minimalist designs, and the Paper Clutch is a perfect example! I love its sleek, elongated silhouette and slim proportions, which give it such an elegant, understated feel. It's the kind of clutch that would look beautiful with almost anything, from a tailored blazer and trousers to a simple evening dress. I particularly love how effortlessly chic it feels, making it a lovely option for dinners, gallery visits, and special occasions alike.

Inspired by contemporary art, the collections bring together geometric shapes, interesting proportions, and beautiful materials, creating pieces that feel both modern and distinctive. With an appreciation for European craftsmanship, the brand offers a wonderfully creative interpretation of Parisian style.

DESTREE is another French brand that's been catching my eye lately, particularly for its chic and original handbags. I love how the designs feel almost like little works of art, with their sculptural shapes, interesting textures, and thoughtful details. There's something so lovely about a handbag that can make even the simplest outfit feel a little more special!

Styles I'm Loving:

Its structured shape and signature teardrop detail give it such a lovely architectural feel. Available in both top-handle and crossbody versions, the Gabrielle comes in a wonderful selection of colors and textures, each bringing its own personality to the design. I'm particularly drawn to the olive green, which feels so chic and timeless, along with the spotted and checked variations for something a little more playful. I can easily picture these handbags styled with classic tailoring, a beautiful coat, or a simple monochromatic outfit, letting their distinctive shapes and textures take center stage.

Founded in Bucharest, Romania, by architect and Creative Director Claudia Tecuceanu, Maison Maestoso is a Romanian handbag and accessories brand known for its sculptural silhouettes, minimalist aesthetic, and appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from architecture, contemporary art, and modernist design, the collections explore beautiful proportions, geometric shapes, and thoughtful details. Each handbag is crafted in Romania using carefully selected Italian leathers, with an emphasis on quality and timeless design.

I actually discovered Maison Maestoso thanks to the Maéva community, after several of you lovely readers recommended the brand to me! I'm so happy you did, because I've really enjoyed exploring its collections. I absolutely love the architectural shapes, elegant proportions, and beautiful sculptural details. The Noa collection has particularly caught my eye, and several of its styles have already made their way onto my wishlist!

Styles I'm Loving:

One particularly lovely detail shared by the Gaia Collection is the personalized mirror tucked inside each handbag, adding a thoughtful finishing touch to these beautiful designs.

  • Noa Soft: I absolutely love the beautiful shape of the Noa Soft, particularly its relaxed silhouette and distinctive sculptural clasp. The combination of soft, flowing lines and more structured details gives it such an elegant feel. I also love that the strap can be removed to transform it into a clutch, making it a lovely option for both everyday dressing and evenings out. The croc-textured leather adds another beautiful detail, and I can easily picture it styled with a tailored coat or a simple evening look.

  • Noa Soft Tote: For an everyday handbag, the Noa Soft Tote is particularly lovely! I'm drawn to its relaxed shape, beautiful suede finish, and understated elegance. It has such a chic, effortless feel, while the spacious interior makes it practical for carrying everyday essentials, including a laptop. I can easily imagine wearing this with a cozy knit, classic trousers, or a beautiful wool coat throughout the colder months.

  • Noa Slim: I've always loved an elongated handbag silhouette, and the Noa Slim is such a beautiful interpretation! Its softly curved base, clean lines, and signature sculptural clasp give it a distinctive character while keeping the overall design wonderfully minimal. I particularly love the proportions and adjustable strap, which make it easy to style for different occasions. It's exactly the kind of handbag I'd reach for with tailored separates, a classic trench, or a simple dress for an effortlessly polished look.

Poelle is a Ukrainian handbag brand known for its elegant silhouettes, timeless designs, and appreciation for traditional craftsmanship. I recently had the pleasure of adding the beautiful Cecilie handbag in Marsala to my own collection, and I've really enjoyed discovering more of Poelle's designs ever since!

Styles I'm Loving:

Poelle has some beautiful handbag styles that have caught my eye lately, including the new Jane Tote and a few other designs that have made their way onto my wishlist.

  • Jane Tote: One of Poelle's newest arrivals, the Jane Tote immediately caught my attention with its beautifully simple silhouette and elegant proportions. I love the clean lines, subtle center seam, and long shoulder straps, which give it such an effortless, polished feel. It's also wonderfully practical, with room for a laptop and everyday essentials while remaining relatively lightweight. The leather and suede variations are particularly lovely, and I can easily picture this styled with a classic trench coat, tailored trousers, or a cozy knit.

  • Object N.03: I'm particularly drawn to the sculptural shape of the Object N.03! Its trapezoid silhouette, delicate belt detail, and gold-tone hardware give it such a beautiful architectural feel. Available in three sizes and a lovely selection of leather and suede finishes, it's the kind of handbag that feels both distinctive and timeless. I have such a soft spot for beautifully designed everyday totes, and this one has a lovely structured silhouette with clean lines and long shoulder handles. Available in medium and large sizes, it's a wonderful option for days when you need a little extra room. I'm particularly drawn to the suede variations, which feel so chic for autumn and winter.
