There are so many gorgeous handbags arriving for fall, from rich suede and croc-embossed finishes to deep browns, burgundy tones and beautifully structured silhouettes. After sharing a few of my recent fall handbag edits, including some of my favorite suede bags and croc-embossed styles for the season, I thought it would be fun to round up some of my personal favorite handbags currently catching my eye that come in under the $400 mark.
This list includes brands I own and love, like Lancaster and RSVP, along with names I had the chance to discover in person while I was back home in France, including Pourchet and Paul Marius, plus brands I’ve been following and hearing great things about, like Coccinelle and Tammy & Benjamin.
I wanted to focus on bags that still feel elevated and special, without moving into traditional luxury price points. Below, I’m sharing 18 European brands currently offering select styles under $400 for fall!

1. Coccinelle
Coccinelle is an Italian handbag and accessories brand founded in 1978 in Sala Baganza, in the hills of Parma. Known for its focus on leather craftsmanship, Italian materials and contemporary design, the brand creates handbags that feel polished and elevated while still being designed with everyday wear in mind.
For fall, a few of my favorite styles under the $400 mark include the C-Me Small, which has a beautifully structured shape and signature C hardware, the Lidia Small, especially gorgeous in suede, and the Boheme Small, a softer, more relaxed silhouette that feels perfect for everyday. I especially love the mix of rich leather, suede and warm seasonal shades throughout the collection right now.

2. Pourchet
Pourchet is a historic Parisian leather goods house founded in 1903. What began as a small workshop creating reticules grew into a full leather handbag Maison under the founder’s daughter, Marcelle, with generations of the family continuing to develop the brand throughout the 20th century. Today, Pourchet continues to draw on more than a century of archives and craftsmanship while creating collections that feel distinctly Parisian and contemporary.
I had the chance to visit Pourchet in person while I was in Paris, and I was genuinely impressed by the quality, especially considering the price point. The leather and finishes felt beautiful in person, and I especially loved the range of colors throughout the collection. There are also so many styles currently available under the $400 mark. A few of my favorites for fall are the Florin, Tempo, the new Citrouille, the Trianon Daim and the classic Blossom.

Sézane was founded in Paris in 2013 by Morgane Sézalory, growing out of her original vintage project, Les Composantes. The brand has become known for creating a distinctly Parisian wardrobe with an emphasis on thoughtful details, quality materials and designs intended to be worn for years, with its handbag collection now forming an increasingly important part of the Sézane universe.
Sézane has introduced so many beautiful new bags for fall, and I’m especially loving the smaller suede styles and rich brown tones throughout the collection. I recently visited the Sézane Appartement in Brentwood and had the chance to see several of the new bags in person, and they looked just as gorgeous off-screen. A few of my favorites under the $400 mark include the Solal Bag and the Pio Clutch, both of which feel especially perfect for fall.

Lancaster is a French leather goods brand known for combining quality leather, functionality and contemporary design across a huge range of handbags and accessories. I had the chance to visit Lancaster in Paris on my latest trip and ended up bringing home a beautiful nude-pink clutch that has quickly become one of my favorite bags for events and evenings out. The brand is known for its modern, art-inspired approach to handbags, often playing with structured silhouettes, asymmetrical shapes and distinctive details. Its collections are produced in workshops near Florence using Italian leathers, with an emphasis on quality and durability.
Tammy & Benjamin is a brand I’ve heard repeatedly praised for the quality of its handbags, and several styles are currently on sale under the $400 mark at the time of writing. So, if the brand has been on your wishlist, this could be a great time to explore it. A couple of my favorites for fall are the Eleanor and the Vaya, especially in the deeper seasonal shades.

nat & nin is a French leather goods brand founded by sisters Nathalie and Ninny, who grew up in their parents’ leather workshop along the Canal Saint-Martin in Paris. With leather craftsmanship passed down through their family, the sisters created nat & nin with a focus on elegant, timeless and chic handbags designed for everyday life.
It’s another brand I keep hearing great things about, especially when it comes to the quality for the price point, and I already have quite a few styles on my own wishlist. For fall, I’m especially loving the Moreen, Milan, Alice Small and Roméo, with so many beautiful suede, brown and burgundy options throughout the collection.

Paul Marius is a French leather goods brand founded in Rouen in 2010 by Florent Poirier, with a distinctive approach to leather goods that blends vintage inspiration, character and everyday practicality. The brand works with partner workshops in India, Cambodia, Italy and France, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, material quality and creating pieces designed to last.
I had the chance to visit one of the Paul Marius boutiques while I was in Bordeaux, and I loved being able to see the bags and leather finishes in person. One of the styles I’m especially drawn to is the Mademoiselle George, which has become one of the brand’s signature designs and has such a charming, slightly vintage feel. Also loving the Madame George, Suzon M Folk, and Capucine.

Bleu de Chauffe is a French leather goods brand based in the Aveyron region, where its bags are handcrafted in France by artisan leatherworkers. Each artisan is responsible for creating a bag from start to finish, with a focus on traditional craftsmanship, durable materials and thoughtful production. The brand is especially known for vegetable-tanned leather, canvas and timeless designs made to be repaired, worn and kept for years.
Bleu de Chauffe always has such beautiful leather and suede work, and the quality looks like the kind that only gets better with time. I also love that so many of the brand’s styles still fall under the $400 mark. A few of my favorites right now are the Sofia Bucket Bag, Jane Mini Bag and Sacoche Pouch, especially in the richer brown and suede finishes for fall.

O My Bag is another brand I’ve heard great things about, and they have a really strong selection under the $400 mark. For fall, I’m especially loving some of the newer silhouettes, including the Kiki Midi and Coco Croissant, both of which have that relaxed, slightly sculptural shape that feels very current right now.

Furla has plenty of beautiful options under the $400 mark, and I’m especially loving some of the newer arrivals for fall. A few that immediately caught my eye are the Poppy Dome, Debby Shoulder Bag and Camelia Mini Bag, which all feel polished and easy to wear while still offering something a little different in shape and detail.

Its approach centers on what Poelle calls “futuristic minimalism,” combining clean architectural shapes, natural leather and suede, and understated details with an emphasis on craftsmanship and everyday functionality.
I really love how refined and distinctive Poelle’s silhouettes feel without being overly embellished. There are several beautiful styles available under the $400 mark, and two currently on my wishlist are the Britni Bag and Elza Clutch. Both have that sleek, minimal quality I love, while the rich leather and suede options make them especially beautiful for fall.

Leandra has plenty of beautiful styles under the $400 mark, and I especially love how polished and understated the collection feels. A couple of my favorites right now are the Baguette Bag, the Bucket Bag, and the Handbag, which all have clean silhouettes that feel easy to wear while still being a little different.

Markberg is a Danish accessories brand founded in 2008 by Mette Astrup and Rune Klemmensen, with a focus on clean Scandinavian design, functionality and long-lasting quality. For fall, I’m especially loving the EdenaMBG Bag in both croc-effect and suede, along with the AmariMBG Crossbody Bag. The shapes feel polished but still easy to wear, and I really like how Markberg brings texture into otherwise simple, timeless designs.

PÖ&ME has quite a few beautiful options under the $400 mark, and I’m especially loving the new Harmonie Bag and Le Vent du Voyage for fall. The Harmonie has such a clean, feminine shape, while Le Vent du Voyage is a more practical everyday option that can even fit a laptop, making it especially useful if you need something for work or travel. Studio Flo is an independent Italian handbag brand founded in Florence in 2024 by Sara, who spent the previous decade working in the world of leather craftsmanship. Inspired by Florence, Renaissance architecture and classical proportions, the brand creates sculptural, understated bags with a strong focus on refined craftsmanship and timeless design.
Studio Flo is one of the newer brands in this edit, and I really love the quiet, architectural feel of the collection. I personally own the Munchkin, and it’s one of those bags I keep coming back to because it feels polished, minimal and a little different without being difficult to style. For this under-$400 edit, two of my favorite options are the Mini Parachute and Skinny B, both of which have that same modern, understated quality I love about the brand.
