My French Handbag Collection: The Bags I Own, Wear & Love
If you’ve been here for a while, you know I share a lot about handbags, and especially French and European handbag brands. From new launches and boutique visits to brand guides and more, they’re a big part of what I love discovering and sharing here.
So I thought it would be fun to take you inside my own collection and share the French handbags I personally own and wear.
Below, I’m sharing a little more about each brand, the specific styles in my collection, what drew me to them, and how I tend to wear or use each bag. Whether you’re already familiar with these names or looking for a new French handbag brand to discover, I hope this gives you a helpful look at the different styles and a better sense of what they’re like beyond the product photos.
And because there are always a few more on my wishlist, I’m also sharing some of the French handbags currently on my radar toward the end!
Le Tanneur
Founded in 1898, Le Tanneur is one of those French leather goods houses I had admired for years before finally adding one of its handbags to my own collection. I love the balance the Maison strikes between its heritage and pieces that still feel incredibly easy to wear today.
I also had the chance to visit Le Tanneur’s flagship boutique in Paris this year, which gave me an even closer look at the brand, its history, and the craftsmanship behind the collections. It was such a lovely experience, and one that made me appreciate the Maison even more.
The Emilie Medium in Fossil Gray is the newest Le Tanneur bag in my collection, and it has very quickly become one of my favorites. I first discovered the style while getting a preview of the Maison’s Fall 2026 collection, and I immediately loved the structured silhouette, light gold hardware, and especially the Fossil Gray color.
It’s such a beautiful neutral if you want something a little softer than black but cooler and more understated than a traditional brown. I’ve already worn mine with everything from linen and summer dresses to denim, and I love how easily it works with simple, everyday looks.
The Medium size is also incredibly practical. It feels polished and structured without being overly formal, with enough room for everything I typically carry and a thoughtfully organized interior that makes it easy to use day to day.
What I love most about the Emilie Medium is how effortlessly it fits into my wardrobe. It feels elegant and understated, but still practical enough for everyday wear, and I can already see myself carrying it well into fall with knitwear, loafers, and a classic trench.
The first Le Tanneur bag I added to my collection was the Emilie Small Double Flap, a style I had admired for quite a while before finally adding one to my wardrobe.
What I love most about the Emilie Double Flap is the shape itself. It has a beautifully structured silhouette, while the layered flap detail gives it a little more character without making it feel overly decorative. It’s polished, feminine, and still understated enough to wear every day.
Mine is from Le Tanneur’s Summer 2026 collection and combines natural canvas with smooth leather. The Small size in this version is currently sold out, but the Medium Double Flap is currently available, and I also love the style in Le Tanneur’s classic leather finishes. In leather, the silhouette feels even more timeless and works beautifully year-round.
It’s also a very versatile style when it comes to how you wear it. The adjustable strap lets you carry it by hand, over the shoulder, or crossbody, and the structured shape adds just enough polish to even a very simple look.

Ateliers Auguste
Ateliers Auguste has been one of my favorite French handbag discoveries for quite some time. I’ve always been drawn to the brand’s clean, architectural silhouettes and understated approach to design, and I now have two of their bags in my collection: the Monceau Baguette and the Mini Marly.
Founded in Paris by two brothers with a shared love of design and architecture, Ateliers Auguste creates its handbags in Paris before having them handcrafted in Italy. That mix of French design and Italian craftsmanship is something I’ve come to really appreciate about the brand, especially after having the chance to visit their boutique in Le Marais this year and see the collection, leathers, and craftsmanship up close.
The Monceau Baguette in Chocolate Box Leather was my first bag from Ateliers Auguste and really the style that first introduced me to the brand firsthand.
I was immediately drawn to its long, rectangular silhouette and very minimal, architectural feel. Mine is the Gold Edition, with the brand’s vintage-inspired ribbed gold clasp, which adds just enough detail against the rich chocolate brown leather while still keeping the overall design incredibly understated.
One of my favorite things about the Monceau Baguette is how versatile it is. I can wear it over the shoulder or crossbody, but I can also tuck the strap inside and carry it as a clutch, which makes it especially easy to take from daytime looks to dinner or an evening out. It’s also surprisingly spacious considering how sleek the silhouette is.
And the chocolate brown has turned out to be such a good neutral in my wardrobe. I’ve worn it with lighter denim and whites during the warmer months, but it works just as beautifully with suede, knits, and richer tones heading into fall.
The Mini Marly in Taupe is the second Ateliers Auguste bag I added to my collection, although it had been on my radar long before that.
I finally got to see it in person while visiting the Ateliers Auguste boutique in Paris, and the proportions and quality were every bit as beautiful as I had imagined. I ended up choosing the Taupe, a soft neutral that works so naturally with the colors I tend to wear and makes the bag incredibly easy to style throughout the year.
Compared with the more elongated Monceau Baguette, the Mini Marly has a more classic top-handle silhouette with a wider, structured shape that gives it a completely different feel. It still feels very polished, but the proportions make it especially easy to wear day to day. It fits my everyday essentials comfortably, has a secure zip closure, and can be carried by hand or worn over the shoulder with the adjustable strap.
What I especially love about both bags is that they feel distinctly different while still sharing that same Ateliers Auguste design language: thoughtful proportions, beautiful leather, minimal hardware, and silhouettes that don’t feel tied to a particular trend.

Fleuron
Fleuron is one of those French handbag brands that feels instantly recognizable once you become familiar with its designs. Founded in Paris in 2020, the Maison is known for sculptural silhouettes, beautiful leathers, and an especially thoughtful approach to color.
I had the chance to visit Fleuron’s Paris boutique this summer, and seeing the collection together in person gave me an even greater appreciation for the brand. The range of colors is incredible, from soft neutrals and earthy tones to richer seasonal shades, and each one feels considered in a way that really complements the shape of the bags.
The Mini Swann in Sable is the Fleuron bag currently in my collection, and it has become one of the handbags I reach for most often.
I originally chose Sable because I wanted something neutral and easy to wear, and it has turned out to be exactly that. The soft beige tone works beautifully with denim, linen, white, knits, and so many of the colors already in my wardrobe, making it one of those bags I rarely have to think twice about styling.
The silhouette is what really makes the Mini Swann special. It has a structured top handle paired with softly folded sides, which gives the bag a beautiful balance between structure and movement. The side panels are actually inspired by the wings of a swan, a detail I learned during my visit to the boutique and now can’t unsee.
It’s also incredibly practical. I carried mine throughout much of my time in France, wearing it crossbody while walking around during the day and then switching to the top handle for dinners or whenever I wanted it to feel a little more polished.
Visiting the boutique also made me want to eventually add another Fleuron in one of the Maison’s more colorful shades. As much as I love my neutrals, Fleuron might just be the brand that convinces me to branch out.

RSVP Paris
RSVP Paris is one of my more recent French handbag additions, and the Munchkin in Grained Black Leather was the first style I added to my collection.
Founded in Paris in 2015, RSVP has a very refined, modern approach to leather goods, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, beautiful proportions, and limited production. Each design is produced in small quantities, and I love that the bags feel distinctive without being overly recognizable or trend-driven.
The Munchkin ended up being exactly the kind of small black handbag I had been looking for: compact, polished, and easy to wear for everything from daytime errands to dinners and events.
I chose the Grained Black Leather, which I especially love with the structured silhouette and signature gold hardware. The textured leather gives the bag a little more depth, while the overall shape still feels very clean and understated.
It’s also surprisingly practical for such a petite bag. I usually only carry my phone, cards, keys, and a few small essentials, so the size works really well for me. I also love having the option to carry it by the top handle when I want something a little more polished or add the adjustable strap and wear it over the shoulder or crossbody.
One of my favorite details is that each Munchkin is produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces and individually numbered, which gives the bag a little extra sense of character.

Polène
Polène probably needs very little introduction at this point, but it’s still one of the French handbag brands I find myself coming back to again and again. I had shared the brand here many times before finally adding one to my own collection during a visit to the Richelieu boutique in Paris.
The Cyme Mini in Camel is the Polène bag currently in my collection, and choosing it in person was part of what made this one particularly fun.
I had gone into the boutique knowing I wanted to look more closely at the Cyme, but seeing the different colors and proportions in person really helped me decide. I ultimately chose Camel over black, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a warm, incredibly versatile shade that works beautifully with the creams, white, denim, linen, and softer browns I tend to wear most.
I also love how distinctive the shape is. The sculptural sides can be worn open for a more relaxed silhouette or brought inward to give the bag a slightly more compact shape, so it feels like you can subtly change the look depending on how you carry it.
The Mini is also a really nice size for everyday use when I don’t need a full work tote. It gives me more room than many of the smaller handbags in my collection while still feeling polished and easy to carry.
It’s one of those bags that feels recognizably Polène without relying on logos, which is probably one of the things I appreciate most about the brand.

Fauvette Paris
Fauvette is one of the French handbag brands I’ve really loved discovering more closely over the past year. Founded in Paris by Claire Rischette, the brand has such a distinct point of view, with elegant silhouettes, beautiful leathers, and signature details that make the bags instantly recognizable.
What I especially love about Fauvette is the balance between timeless design and personality. The collections often have a subtle vintage influence, but the bags still feel modern, refined, and incredibly easy to wear.
I also had the chance to meet Claire in Paris this summer and discover the Fauvette universe in person at Passage Doré, which made the brand feel even more special to me. I’ll be sharing more from that visit very soon.
The Adèle in Black Lizard-Embossed Leather is the Fauvette bag currently in my collection and one of the styles that first caught my eye.
I love its structured silhouette and slightly vintage feel, but the detail that really makes the Adèle stand out is its signature flower clasp. Designed by Claire and gilded with fine gold in Paris, it gives the bag a beautiful jewelry-like detail while still keeping the overall design elegant and understated.
Mine is crafted in black lizard-embossed leather, which adds just enough texture to a classic black bag. It’s compact but still works beautifully for my everyday essentials, and I love that I can wear it over the shoulder or crossbody depending on the look.
It’s one of those bags that adds something special to even the simplest outfit, whether I’m wearing denim, linen, tailoring, or a dress.

Lancaster Paris
Lancaster is a French leather goods brand with a real focus on leather, functionality, and creating bags that fit naturally into everyday life. The brand places particular importance on the quality of its leathers and draws on the traditions of French craftsmanship, while continuously introducing new shapes and styles that feel current.
What I also like about Lancaster is the variety within the collection. You’ll find everything from practical everyday bags and totes to smaller evening styles, with designs that tend to balance timelessness with just enough of-the-moment detail.
I had browsed Lancaster online several times before my trip to Paris, but it wasn’t until I stopped into one of the boutiques that I really started paying closer attention to the collection.
The Milano Trésor Small Box Bag in Nude Pink was a completely unplanned purchase, which somehow makes it even more fun.
I came across it after spending the day around the Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries, and the soft neutral color and elegant silhouette immediately caught my eye. Once I tried it in person, I also realized how practical the size was, especially for the kinds of occasions when I tend to reach for a smaller handbag.
Since bringing it home, it has become one of my go-to bags for date nights, weddings, and special occasions. It feels polished without being overly formal, and the nude pink works almost like a neutral, making it surprisingly easy to style with the rest of my wardrobe.
Sometimes the best additions to a collection really are the ones you weren’t planning on buying at all.

Final Thoughts
I had so much fun putting this together because these are the bags I actually own, wear, and reach for in my day-to-day life, and each one fills a slightly different role in my wardrobe.
Some are the styles I grab when I want something easy and practical, others are the ones I reach for for dinners, events, or days when I want an outfit to feel a little more polished. I also love that each brand brings something different, whether it’s the shape, the leather, the color, or simply the way the bag feels once you start wearing it.
