18 French Brands With Suede Bags I’m Loving for Fall

As fall approaches and brands begin releasing their new collections, I can’t help but notice one of my favorite handbag materials making its return: suede. There’s something about its soft texture and rich, warm finish that instantly makes a handbag feel more autumnal, adding a beautiful layer of depth to even the simplest fall look.

From deep chocolate browns and warm camel tones to burgundy, taupe, and classic black, I’ve been seeing so many beautiful suede handbags arriving for the new season. Whether paired with denim and a simple knit, layered with a trench coat, or styled with tailoring, suede is one of those materials that immediately brings a little more texture and warmth to an outfit.

For this edit, I’ve rounded up 18 French brands with suede bags I’m currently loving and bookmarking for fall. From familiar French favorites to a few smaller brands worth discovering, there are so many beautiful silhouettes, colors, and textures to explore as we head into the new season.

Let’s dive in!

If you’ve been following along for a while, you’re probably no stranger to Ateliers Auguste, as it has become one of my absolute favorite French handbag brands. Founded in Paris by brothers Laurent and Xavier Valembert, the Maison creates beautifully understated handbags inspired by architecture, timeless design, and Parisian style. Each piece is designed in Paris and handcrafted in Italy, with a focus on beautiful materials, clean silhouettes, and thoughtful details.

I now own two bags from the brand, the Mini Marly and Monceau Baguette, and both have become some of my favorite handbags in my personal collection. During my recent trip to Paris in June, I also had the opportunity to visit the Ateliers Auguste boutique and get a closer look at the collection in person. Seeing and feeling the leathers firsthand gave me an even greater appreciation for the quality and craftsmanship behind each piece.

For fall, I’m especially loving the brand’s suede handbags. The rich texture feels so perfect for the season, while the clean, minimal silhouettes keep them feeling timeless enough to carry well beyond fall. They’re exactly the kind of bags I love adding to a wardrobe: seasonal enough to make an outfit feel fresh, but classic enough that you’ll continue reaching for them year after year.

If you’d like to discover more about Ateliers Auguste, you can also read my full feature and watch my visit to the Paris boutique here.

Highlights:

  • Beautifully understated French design.

  • Designed in Paris and handcrafted in Italy.

  • Exceptional leather quality and craftsmanship.

  • Timeless silhouettes that feel elevated without being overly trend-driven.

  • Rich suede textures that feel especially beautiful for fall.

Best For:Timeless everyday style, fall wardrobes, minimalist dressing, and anyone looking to invest in a beautifully crafted French handbag they’ll carry well beyond the season.

You’ve probably seen me mention Sézane quite a few times by now, especially when it comes to beautiful French wardrobe staples. Founded in Paris in 2013 by Morgane Sézalory, Sézane was the first French fashion brand born entirely online and has since grown into one of the most recognizable names in contemporary French style.

I own quite a few pieces from the brand, many of which have become staples in my own wardrobe. One of my absolute favorites is the Clyde Trench Coat, which would pair beautifully with one of the suede bags from the new collection for an easy fall look. If you’re looking for even more European brands creating elevated wardrobe staples, you can also discover my full edit here.

While Sézane may be best known for its ready-to-wear, its handbag collection is equally worth exploring. For fall, I’m especially loving the Milo, both in suede and the classic leather. It has such a timeless, structured silhouette and is one of those bags I can easily imagine carrying with denim, knitwear, tailoring, and, of course, a classic trench coat throughout the season.

It also feels like an especially interesting moment for Sézane. The brand is entering a new chapter, with Morgane Sézalory introducing a more mature and intentional creative direction centered around more curated collections, elevated materials, and pieces designed with longevity in mind. Several of the handbags featured in this edit are part of the new collection arriving August 23, and I’m especially loving the Maxi Solal Bag, Basile Bag, Pio Clutch, and Vadim Hobo. I’m really drawn to this more minimalist direction and focus on classic wardrobe staples, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of the collection when it launches. I’m especially curious to see how this new approach continues to unfold and what comes next for Sézane.

Highlights:

  • One of my go-to French brands for elevated wardrobe staples.

  • Beautiful handbags alongside the brand’s ready-to-wear collection.

  • The Milo is a timeless silhouette in both suede and classic leather.

  • Suede styles that pair beautifully with trench coats, denim, knitwear, and fall layers.

  • A brand entering an exciting new chapter that I’m looking forward to following.

Best For: French wardrobe staples, timeless everyday handbags, effortless fall styling, and anyone looking for a suede bag that can be carried season after season.

RSVP Paris has quickly become another French handbag brand I’m loving. Founded in Paris in 2015, the Maison takes a thoughtful approach to leather goods, with its handbags designed in Paris and crafted in France and Italy using European leathers. Each design is also produced in limited editions of just 500 numbered pieces, making every bag feel a little more special.

I recently added the Munchkin in grained black leather to my own collection, and I’ve absolutely loved discovering the brand firsthand. It’s a small, structured silhouette that feels incredibly timeless and has quickly become one of those bags I can see myself styling again and again. If you’d like to discover more about the Munchkin and see how I’ve been styling it, you can read my full feature here.

For fall, I’m especially drawn to RSVP Paris’ suede collection. The Low Five and Parachute are both available in a beautiful chocolate suede that feels perfect for the season.

I especially love how the rich brown and soft texture bring warmth to the brand’s otherwise clean, understated silhouettes. The Parachute is available in several sizes as well, making it a beautiful option whether you prefer something smaller or a more substantial everyday bag.

Highlights:

  • Designed in Paris and crafted in France and Italy.

  • Limited editions of just 500 numbered pieces.

  • Beautiful, understated silhouettes with minimal branding.

  • The chocolate suede feels especially rich for fall.

  • A French handbag brand I’ve recently had the opportunity to experience firsthand.

Best For: Understated French style, rich fall textures, timeless everyday bags, and anyone looking for a beautifully crafted handbag that feels distinctive without being overly trend-driven.

Fleuron is another one of my favorite French handbag brands, and during my recent trip to Paris, I had the opportunity to stop by the Maison’s flagship boutique and discover even more of the collection in person. Founded in Paris in 2020, Fleuron takes a thoughtful approach to leather goods, focusing on timeless silhouettes, beautiful materials, and subtle details rather than fleeting trends. Each creation is conceived in Paris before being handcrafted by leather artisans in Italy.

I own the Mini Swann in grained leather and absolutely love it, so naturally, seeing the Swann reimagined in suede immediately caught my attention. The softer, velvety texture gives the silhouette such a beautiful fall feel while still keeping everything I love about the original design. I’m also loving suede styles like the Oak and Mini Bambou, which bring that same rich texture to completely different silhouettes.

One of the things I appreciate most about Fleuron is how the brand continues to reinterpret its signature designs through new colors and materials without losing the timeless quality that makes them so wearable.

The suede collection feels especially beautiful for fall, but these are bags I could easily see carrying well beyond a single season.

If you’d like to discover more about Fleuron, you can also read my full feature and take a closer look inside the Paris flagship boutique here.

Highlights:

  • Beautiful Parisian design with timeless, distinctive silhouettes.

  • Designed in Paris and handcrafted in Italy.

  • The Mini Swann is already one of my personal favorites.

  • Signature styles like the Swann, Oak, and Mini Bambou look beautiful in suede.

  • Rich colors and textures that feel especially perfect for fall.

Best For: Timeless French style, beautiful fall textures, everyday handbags with distinctive silhouettes, and anyone looking for a suede bag they’ll continue carrying well beyond the season.

Elleme is another Parisian handbag brand I’ve loved following, especially for its beautifully sculptural silhouettes and understated approach to design. Founded in Paris in 2015, the Maison takes its name from the French elle aime, meaning “she loves.” Rather than relying on prominent logos or unnecessary ornamentation, Elleme focuses on proportion, shape, and beautiful materials, creating handbags that feel distinctive while remaining wonderfully timeless.

Each bag is crafted in Italy by skilled artisans using carefully selected materials, including supple leathers and beautifully soft suedes. I especially love that Elleme offers suede in both lighter, more neutral shades that can easily work year-round and the rich, darker browns that I’m currently gravitating toward for fall. Paired with denim, tailoring, knitwear, or a beautiful coat, these deeper shades add so much warmth and texture to a look.

I’ve always loved the Boomerang, one of Elleme’s signature silhouettes, but for this edit, the Dimple Tote in croc-effect suede immediately caught my attention. The combination of the relaxed Dimple silhouette, rich brown tone, and textured suede feels so beautiful for fall. I also love that Elleme continues to revisit signature designs like the Boomerang, Dimple, Baozi, and Trousse through new materials, finishes, and proportions rather than constantly replacing them with something new.

Highlights:

  • Beautiful Parisian designs crafted in Italy.

  • Distinctive silhouettes that are recognizable without relying on prominent logos.

  • The Boomerang is one of my personal favorite designs from the brand.

  • A gorgeous selection of soft suede and textural finishes.

  • Lighter suede shades that can work year-round alongside rich browns that feel perfect for fall.

Best For: Sculptural everyday bags, understated French style, rich fall textures, and anyone looking for a suede handbag that feels distinctive while remaining timeless.

nat & nin is such a lovely French brand to include in this edit, especially if you’re looking for beautifully made leather bags at a more accessible price point. The story behind the brand is also incredibly special. Sisters Nathalie and Ninny grew up in their parents’ leather workshop along the Canal Saint-Martin in Paris, surrounded by rolls of leather and the tools of their family’s craft. At just 19 and 25, they decided to continue that legacy in their own way, creating nat & nin with a focus on elegant, timeless, and accessible leather goods designed for everyday life.

More than 20 years later, the brand remains independent and continues to offer such a wide selection of colors, silhouettes, and materials. It’s also a brand that has come up within the Maéva community, with readers sharing how impressed they’ve been by the quality for the price, which always makes me even more excited to include a brand in one of these edits.

For fall, nat & nin has so many beautiful suede options to explore. I’m especially loving the Milo and Romeo, but there are plenty of other styles throughout the collection in those rich, warm suede finishes that feel perfect for the season. If you’ve been looking for a French suede bag at a more approachable price point, this is definitely a brand worth having on your radar.

Highlights:

  • A family story rooted in generations of leather craftsmanship.

  • An independent French brand founded by two sisters.

  • Beautiful leather goods at a more accessible price point.

  • So many suede silhouettes and colors to choose from for fall.

  • Positive feedback on the quality and value from the Maéva community.

Best For: Accessible French leather goods, everyday bags, beautiful fall suede, and anyone looking for a quality French handbag at a more approachable price point.

If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ll probably know that Le Tanneur is another one of my absolute favorite French leather goods houses. Founded in 1898, the Maison has more than 125 years of history rooted in French leather craftsmanship, creating timeless leather goods that balance heritage, beautiful materials, and everyday functionality.

I now own two handbags from Le Tanneur, with my most recent addition being the Emilie Medium from the new Fall-Winter 2026 collection. It has quickly become one of my favorite bags in my personal collection, and I’ve been incredibly impressed by the quality and craftsmanship of both of my Le Tanneur pieces. If you’d like to discover more about the Emilie and see a closer look at the new Fall-Winter 2026 collection, you can read my full feature here.

For this edit, I’m especially loving the Juliette handbags in suede. Both the Juliette Small Handbag and Juliette Small Hobo have been reimagined in a beautiful warm brown suede for fall, bringing a softer, more textural feel to the collection’s contemporary silhouettes.

I love how the suede adds warmth while the clean lines and understated details keep both styles feeling timeless enough to carry well beyond the season. I also had the opportunity to visit Le Tanneur’s flagship boutique on Boulevard des Capucines during my recent trip to Paris, where I was able to discover more of the Maison’s history, craftsmanship, and collections in person.

If you’d like to discover more about Le Tanneur and come along on my visit to the Paris flagship, you can read and watch the full feature here.

Highlights:

  • More than 125 years of French leather goods heritage.

  • Beautiful craftsmanship with a focus on timeless, functional design.

  • I own two handbags from the Maison, including the Emilie Medium from Fall-Winter 2026.

  • The Juliette suede handbags feel especially beautiful for fall.

  • A French Maison I’ve had the opportunity to experience firsthand, from carrying its handbags to visiting the Paris flagship.

Best For: French design, beautiful leather craftsmanship, timeless everyday handbags, stunning fall suede, and anyone looking to invest in a bag they’ll continue carrying for years to come.

Soeur is one of those French brands that does understated, effortless style so well. Founded in 2007 by sisters Angélique and Domitille Brion, the Parisian brand has built its identity around a modern wardrobe that blends feminine silhouettes with influences borrowed from menswear. The result is a collection of timeless, easy-to-wear pieces with that relaxed Parisian feel the brand has become known for.

That same aesthetic carries beautifully into Soeur’s handbag collection. The designs are sleek and minimalist, but still have enough distinctive details to make them feel special. I’m especially loving the Bellissima, one of the brand’s signature handbag silhouettes. Its softly rounded rectangular shape and signature gold S-shaped clasp give it a polished feel, while the adjustable strap makes it an incredibly practical everyday bag.

For this edit, the Bellissima Mini in suede immediately stood out to me. I love the simplicity of the silhouette paired with the softer texture of the suede, especially in those warm caramel and brown tones for fall. It’s the kind of bag I could easily picture with a trench coat, oversized blazer, denim, or beautiful knitwear, and its clean design makes it something you could continue carrying well beyond the season.

Highlights:

  • Effortless French design with a relaxed, minimalist aesthetic.

  • Founded in Paris by sisters Angélique and Domitille Brion.

  • Sleek handbag silhouettes that feel timeless and easy to style.

  • The Bellissima’s signature S-shaped clasp adds just enough detail.

  • Beautiful suede options that feel especially perfect for a fall wardrobe.

Best For: Minimalist French style, everyday handbags, effortless fall looks, and anyone looking for a sleek suede bag that will work with so much of their wardrobe.

Founded in 2013 by a Parisian couple, Léo et Violette is a French leather goods brand centered around timeless design and artisanal craftsmanship. Each piece is conceived in the brand’s Paris creative studio, where clean lines and functional details take center stage. Rather than relying on logos or monograms, the designs are distinguished by beautiful materials, thoughtful proportions, and an understated elegance. The bags are then handcrafted in Italy in specialized leather workshops between Milan and Naples.

I had the opportunity to see the collection in person during my recent trip to Paris, and the quality of the bags was beautiful. I especially appreciate how understated the designs feel. They’re minimal without feeling too simple, with thoughtful proportions, beautiful leathers, and subtle details that give each silhouette its own identity.

For fall, I’m particularly loving the softer, more effortless feel of Le Marcia and Le Soft Laurence. Both look especially beautiful in suede, and I love the selection of warm camel, mocha, and neutral shades throughout the collection.

There’s something about pairing these relaxed silhouettes with the softness and texture of suede that feels so effortless for fall while still remaining polished enough to carry well beyond the season.

Highlights:

  • Founded in 2013 by a Parisian couple.

  • Each design is conceived in the brand’s Paris creative studio.

  • Handcrafted in Italy in specialized workshops between Milan and Naples.

  • Understated designs without prominent logos or monograms.

  • Beautiful suede options across Le Marcia, Le Soft Laurence and more.

  • A collection I had the opportunity to experience firsthand while in Paris.

Best For: Effortless everyday style, relaxed silhouettes, minimalist wardrobes, and anyone looking for a beautifully crafted suede bag with a softer, understated feel.

If you’re drawn to a slightly more eclectic, relaxed approach to French style, Sessùn is definitely a brand I recommend having on your radar. Founded by Emma François in 1996, the story of Sessùn began following a trip to Guatemala, where her encounters with local artisans and traditional techniques inspired her to create a collection bringing together craftsmanship and contemporary style. Over the years, that appreciation for beautiful materials, artisanal know-how, and influences gathered from around the world has continued to shape the brand’s distinctive aesthetic.

That eclectic sensibility extends beyond the clothing and into Sessùn’s accessories. There’s a warmth and personality to the collection that feels a little different from some of the more minimalist French brands in this edit, while still offering pieces that are incredibly wearable. Craftsmanship and materials also remain an important part of the brand’s philosophy, with Sessùn highlighting its long-standing relationships with artisans and partners as part of its approach to creating more considered collections.

For handbags, I especially love the Diviluz, one of the brand’s signature designs. With its structured box shape, clean lines, and exclusive magnetic clasp, it has enough personality to stand out without feeling overly statement-making. For this edit, I’m particularly drawn to the suede versions, which soften the structured silhouette and give it that rich, textural quality I’m loving for fall. Sessùn also offers the Diviluz in different sizes, leathers, and finishes, making it a great style to explore if you love the shape but want something that feels a little more personal.

Highlights:

  • Founded by Emma François in 1996.

  • An eclectic French aesthetic influenced by craftsmanship, travel, and beautiful materials.

  • A strong emphasis on artisanal know-how and considered design.

  • The Diviluz has become one of Sessùn’s signature handbag silhouettes.

  • Beautiful suede options that bring softness and warmth to its structured shape.

  • A great brand to explore if you prefer French style with a little more personality.

Best For: Eclectic French style, relaxed wardrobes, beautiful craftsmanship, and anyone looking for a suede bag that feels distinctive while still being easy to wear.

If you’re looking for an accessible French handbag option, Lancaster is definitely a brand worth exploring. Founded in Paris in 1990, the French leather goods house has built its collections around contemporary design, quality materials, and craftsmanship, while keeping many of its handbags at a more approachable price point than traditional luxury leather goods.

I personally own a light pink Lancaster Clutch that I picked up during my recent trip to Paris, and I’ve absolutely loved it. It has become such an easy little bag to reach for when I don’t need to carry much, whether I’m heading to dinner, dressing for a wedding or event, or simply using it day to day. It’s also a great example of why I think Lancaster is worth having on your radar if you want a French handbag without necessarily making a major investment.

If you’d like to see the Lancaster bag along with everything else I brought home from Paris, you can discover my full edit here.

For fall, Lancaster also has a great selection of new arrivals and suede bags across different silhouettes and sizes. I especially love seeing the softer texture paired with the brand’s simple, wearable shapes. There are options that feel perfect for everyday use alongside smaller styles that can easily transition into evenings and events, making this a great collection to explore if you’re looking to add suede to your wardrobe at a more accessible price point.

Highlights:

  • French leather goods house founded in Paris more than 30 years ago.

  • Contemporary designs at a more approachable price point.

  • A wide selection of handbag shapes, sizes, and materials.

  • Plenty of suede options to explore for fall.

  • I personally own a Lancaster clutch that I’ve loved styling for everyday wear, weddings, and events.

Best For: More affordable French leather goods, everyday handbags, smaller event bags, and anyone looking to add a suede handbag to their fall wardrobe at a more approachable price point.

12. ba&sh

ba&sh is another French brand you may already know for its beautiful ready-to-wear. Founded in 2003 by Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief, the brand blends classic Parisian style with a more relaxed, bohemian sensibility, creating pieces that feel feminine, effortless, and easy to incorporate into an everyday wardrobe.

When it comes to clothing, one of the pieces you may already recognize is the Gaspard Cardigan, one of the brand’s iconic styles. Designed almost like a little knitted jacket, with its textured knit, structured shoulders, and beautiful buttons, it’s exactly the kind of elevated wardrobe staple that makes ba&sh worth exploring beyond handbags.

But for this edit, it’s the brand’s suede bag collection that caught my attention. ba&sh has such a great selection of suede styles right now, from relaxed everyday totes to smaller shoulder bags, in rich browns and earthy shades that feel especially beautiful heading into fall.

I love how the softer, slightly bohemian feel of the suede complements the overall ba&sh aesthetic and makes these bags incredibly easy to imagine styled alongside the brand’s knitwear, denim, and fall layers.

Highlights:

  • French brand founded in 2003 by Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief.

  • A blend of classic Parisian style and relaxed, bohemian influences.

  • Beautiful ready-to-wear alongside an extensive handbag collection.

  • The Gaspard Cardigan is one of the brand’s iconic knitwear styles.

  • A wide selection of suede handbags in rich, earthy colors for fall.

Best For: Relaxed French style, elevated wardrobe staples, bohemian-inspired fall looks, and anyone looking for an easy suede bag to pair with denim, knitwear, and everyday layers.

Balzac Paris is another French brand worth having on your radar, especially if you love feminine pieces with a slightly playful, distinctly Parisian feel. Founded in 2014 by Chrysoline de Gastines, Charles Fourmaux, and Victorien de Gastines, the brand was created around the idea of building a more responsible approach to fashion. Today, its T.P.R. (Toujours Plus Responsable) philosophy continues to guide the brand, with a focus on ethics, transmission, and reducing its environmental impact. Balzac Paris has also officially been a société à mission since 2022.

While you may already know Balzac Paris for its ready-to-wear, the handbag collection is also well worth exploring. The brand has developed several recognizable leather goods silhouettes over the years, and I love how its bags tend to have a little more personality while still being easy to incorporate into an everyday wardrobe.

For fall, I’m especially loving the Gala Bag, one of the newer silhouettes from the brand. The structured shape feels polished and timeless, while the suede split-leather versions bring in that softer texture I’m loving for the season.

The Mocha is especially beautiful for fall, with that deep brown shade that would pair so easily with denim, knitwear, trench coats, and other autumn staples. The Gala is also made in Europe, in keeping with Balzac Paris’ emphasis on European production.

Highlights:

  • French brand founded in 2014 by Chrysoline, Charles, and Victorien.

  • A longstanding focus on creating more responsible fashion through its T.P.R. approach.

  • Ready-to-wear, accessories, and leather goods with a distinctly Parisian feel.

  • The new Gala Bag is one of my favorite silhouettes from the current collection.

  • Beautiful suede split-leather options, including a rich mocha shade for fall.

Best For:Parisian everyday style, feminine wardrobes, rich fall colors, and anyone looking for a suede bag that feels polished while still having a little personality.

Gerard Darel is a true icon of French fashion, with a history dating back to the 1970s when Danièle and Gérard Darel founded the Maison in Paris. From the beginning, the idea was to create quality clothing and accessories for the modern woman, combining beautiful materials with an effortless elegance that could transcend seasons and trends. That philosophy continues to shape the brand today, with collections spanning ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, and accessories.

When it comes to handbags, there’s one Gerard Darel style that has become particularly iconic: the 24H Bag. The supple, softly rounded silhouette was designed to balance practicality with that relaxed, slightly bohemian elegance the Maison is known for, and over the years it has become a signature of the brand and a staple in the wardrobes of Parisian women.

For fall, I absolutely love the 24H in suede. The softness of the material works so beautifully with the relaxed silhouette of the bag, especially in those rich brown and earthy shades that feel made for autumn.

But this is also one of those designs where you really can’t go wrong with the classic leather version. Whether you choose suede for a little more texture or smooth leather for something you can easily carry year-round, the 24H has that timeless quality that makes it feel just as relevant today as it will years from now.

Highlights:

  • French Maison founded in Paris by Danièle and Gérard Darel.

  • A longstanding focus on quality materials, craftsmanship, and timeless design.

  • The 24H has become one of the Maison’s most iconic handbag silhouettes.

  • Beautiful in suede for a softer, more textural fall look.

  • Equally timeless in the classic leather version.

  • A relaxed, chic-meets-bohemian aesthetic that feels distinctly French.

Best For: Effortless Parisian style, relaxed everyday bags, timeless French wardrobes, and anyone looking for an iconic suede handbag they can carry season after season.

15. Maje

Maje is another iconic French fashion brand to have on your radar, especially if you love a slightly more playful take on Parisian style. Founded by Judith Milgrom, the Maison was created around her vision of a free and multifaceted Parisian woman, someone whose style can evolve from elegant to bold, playful, or mysterious without being confined to a single aesthetic. Family is also deeply woven into the story of Maje, with Milgrom crediting her grandmother, mother, and sister as important influences behind the brand and her love of fashion.

If you love the combination of suede and fringe, Maje offers the perfect mix for fall. I especially love how the brand brings a slightly more bohemian, statement-making feel to suede, making these bags a fun alternative to some of the cleaner, more minimalist silhouettes throughout this edit. Paired with denim, boots, knitwear, or a great jacket, they bring so much movement and texture to a fall look.

One of the brand’s most recognizable handbags is the M Bag, with its signature fringe and structured silhouette. And if you’ve watched Emily in Paris, you may recognize it: a version of the M Bag was carried by Camille during Season 1. I love that little connection, but even beyond the show, the combination of suede, fringe, and the M Bag’s distinctive shape makes it such a fun piece to revisit for fall.

Highlights:

  • French fashion brand founded by Judith Milgrom.

  • A playful, feminine interpretation of contemporary Parisian style.

  • Beautiful combination of suede and signature fringe detailing.

  • The M Bag has become one of the brand’s recognizable handbag silhouettes.

  • A great option if you want something a little more statement-making for fall.

Best For: Suede and fringe lovers, bohemian-inspired fall looks, playful Parisian style, and anyone looking for a suede bag with a little more personality and movement.

16. Rouje

Rouje is one of my favorite French brands and one I find myself returning to again and again. Founded in 2016 by Jeanne Damas, the brand was inspired by the women she grew up observing in Paris and her vision of a wardrobe designed by women, for women. The collections have that distinctly Rouje balance of femininity, sensuality, and effortless Parisian style, spanning ready-to-wear, accessories, handbags, and the brand’s beauty line, Les Filles en Rouje.

I personally own a dress from Rouje, and some of my most-used pieces from the brand are actually from Les Filles en Rouje. The Balm and La Palette have both become part of my daily makeup routine, you can also find them at Anthropologie. I also make a point of visiting Rouje whenever I’m in Paris, and during my most recent trip, I had the chance to stop by the brand’s new café. It was such a treat to sit down, unwind, and shop all in one place. If you’re planning a trip to Paris and love the brand, I highly recommend stopping in!

And if you’re looking for even more French brands with beautiful dresses, you can discover my full edit here.

For handbags, I’m currently loving the Chouquette and the Big Bag in suede. The Big Bag is especially beautiful in the rich ebony suede, with its simple, relaxed silhouette allowing the texture and deep brown color to really stand out. It’s exactly the kind of bag I can imagine paired with denim, knitwear, a trench coat, or a beautiful fall dress. I’m also looking forward to discovering Rouje’s upcoming fall collection and seeing what else the brand has in store for the new season.

Highlights:

  • Founded in Paris in 2016 by Jeanne Damas.

  • Feminine, effortless pieces inspired by Jeanne’s vision of Parisian style.

  • Ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, and the Les Filles en Rouje beauty collection.

  • A French brand I personally own, wear, and make a point of visiting whenever I’m in Paris.

  • The Chouquette and Big Bag are two of my favorite handbag silhouettes right now.

  • Beautiful suede options, including rich dark brown shades that feel perfect for fall.

Best For:Effortless Parisian style, feminine wardrobes, rich fall suede, and anyone looking for a French brand where you can discover everything from dresses and beauty to beautiful everyday handbags.

17. Sandro

Sandro is another one of my favorite French brands and one I especially love for its elevated ready-to-wear. Founded in Paris in 1984 by Evelyne Chetrite alongside her husband Didier, the Maison has built its identity around a distinctly Parisian approach to dressing, balancing masculine and feminine influences, understated elegance, and contemporary design. Evelyne continues to lead the women’s collections today, while her son Ilan Chetrite oversees Sandro Homme.

I personally can’t recommend Sandro’s knit dresses enough. They’re definitely an investment, and I purchased mine while in Paris to take advantage of the VAT refund, but they’ve become some of the dresses I receive the most compliments on whenever I wear them. I love how elevated and beautifully cut they feel, and they’re the kind of pieces that make getting dressed incredibly easy while still looking polished.

Alongside its clothing, Sandro also has a handbag collection that’s very much worth exploring. For suede, I’m especially loving Le Mambo. The structured double-flap silhouette paired with the softer texture of suede feels like such a beautiful combination, and it can be carried both on the shoulder and crossbody. Sandro currently offers the Mambo in suede as well as classic leather, along with a smaller Mini Mambo if you prefer something more compact.

Highlights:

  • Founded in Paris in 1984 by Evelyne and Didier Chetrite.

  • A distinctly Parisian aesthetic balancing understated elegance with contemporary design.

  • One of my personal favorite French brands for beautifully cut knit dresses.

  • An extensive handbag collection alongside the brand’s ready-to-wear.

  • Le Mambo is especially beautiful in suede for fall.

  • Available in both suede and classic leather, as well as a Mini Mambo silhouette.

Best For: Elevated Parisian style, beautifully cut wardrobe staples, polished everyday bags, and anyone looking for a structured suede handbag that can easily transition from day to evening.

Last but certainly not least, Vanessa Bruno is a French brand known for its effortlessly chic and relaxed approach to Parisian style. Born in France to a Danish mother and Italian father, Vanessa Bruno grew up surrounded by fashion before launching her own label in Paris at just 25 years old. Her collections have since become synonymous with an understated femininity that blends comfort, romance, and that effortless quality so often associated with French style.

In France, the Maison is especially well known for its iconic Cabas Tote. Created just a few years after Vanessa Bruno launched her brand, the sequined tote went on to become one of its most recognizable designs and has since been reimagined in countless colors, sizes, and materials. It’s one of those bags that has remained part of the French fashion landscape for years while continuing to evolve alongside the brand.

For fall, I’m loving some of Vanessa Bruno’s newer suede arrivals, especially the Jess Hobo Bag. The soft, relaxed silhouette works so beautifully with the texture of the leather and gives it that effortless feel I’m gravitating toward this season.

I also love the rich, warm shades throughout the collection, which would pair so easily with denim, knitwear, tailoring, and all of those classic fall layers.

Highlights:

  • French label founded in Paris by Vanessa Bruno.

  • An aesthetic that balances chic Parisian style with a relaxed, effortless feel.

  • Creator of the iconic sequined Cabas Tote.

  • Beautiful suede and nubuck options to explore for the new season.

  • The Jess Hobo is one of my favorite new silhouettes for fall.

  • Relaxed designs that feel easy to style while still looking elevated.

Best For: Effortless Parisian style, relaxed everyday bags, soft suede and nubuck textures, and anyone looking for a fall handbag that feels chic without being overly polished.

And because there are far too many beautiful suede bags to stop at France, I’ve also rounded up a few additional suede handbags from European and international brands that I’m currently loving, bookmarking, and saving for fall. You can discover even more of my favorites here and below:

Final Thoughts

There’s something about suede handbags and fall that just feels like the perfect combination. The softness and texture add so much warmth to an outfit, especially as we start bringing denim, knitwear, trench coats, and richer colors back into our wardrobes.

What I especially loved while putting together this edit was seeing just how many different interpretations of suede are coming from French brands this season. From the clean, minimalist silhouettes of brands like Ateliers Auguste and Léo et Violette to the more relaxed, bohemian feel of Gerard Darel, Sessùn, and Maje, there really is something for every personal style and price point.

And while I’m definitely gravitating toward those rich chocolate browns and warm camel shades for fall, I also love that so many of these bags feel timeless enough to carry beyond a single season. For me, the best seasonal pieces are always the ones that make your wardrobe feel fresh without feeling like something you’ll be ready to move on from a few months later.

As more fall collections continue to arrive, I’ll be keeping an eye out for even more beautiful suede bags to add to my wishlist and, of course, sharing my favorites along the way!
