The Rachel Bag by Nat & Nin: An Effortless Brown Suede Shoulder Bag for Autumn
The Rachel by Nat & Nin has officially joined my collection of handbags from French brands, and I couldn't be happier to have it in my wardrobe for fall!
You may have already seen Nat & Nin featured in a few of my recent handbag edits, including my 18 European Brands With Handbags Under $400 roundup and my 18 French Brands With Suede Bags edit. After spending more time discovering the brand and its collection, I was so excited to finally add one of their handbags to my own wardrobe.
I've been gravitating toward brown suede handbags this season, and the Rachel immediately caught my attention. I loved its relaxed shoulder-bag silhouette, slightly curved shape, and the way the suede gives the design such a soft, effortless feel.
I chose the Rachel in Ebène Suede, a rich chocolate brown that feels especially beautiful for fall. It's already been so easy to incorporate into my wardrobe, particularly with denim, knits, creams, browns, and soft blues.

About Nat & Nin
Nat & Nin is a French accessories brand founded in Paris in 2005 by sisters Nathalie and Ninny.
Originally from China, their family moved to France in the 1980s and settled in Paris, a city that would go on to play an important role in both their personal story and the identity of the brand.
As the daughters of leather artisans, Nathalie and Ninny grew up in their parents' workshop near the Canal Saint-Martin, surrounded by rolls of leather, tools, and the process of making handbags. That early connection to leather craftsmanship eventually inspired them to create a brand of their own.
At just 19 and 25, the sisters launched Nat & Nin, building on the family knowledge they had grown up around while developing their own approach to everyday handbags and accessories.
Today, Nat & Nin remains an independent, family-led brand with the same focus at its core: creating elegant, timeless, and accessible leather goods designed for everyday life.
The brand's production also reflects that long-standing family connection between France and China. Nat & Nin works with a partner workshop in China's Jiangsu region and has maintained that relationship since the brand's early years.
Across the collection, you'll find practical everyday silhouettes alongside more contemporary shapes, with leather, suede, and a mix of classic and seasonal colors throughout.
About the Rachel
The Rachel is a mini hobo-style shoulder bag with a softly curved silhouette and an easy, relaxed feel.
It measures approximately 17 x 32.5 x 8 cm and features an adjustable shoulder strap with several length settings, allowing the bag to sit higher or lower depending on how you prefer to wear it.
The bag closes with a magnetic flap at the front, finished with Nat & Nin's subtle logo hardware. Inside, there is a zipped pocket, an additional flat pocket, and a card holder for keeping smaller essentials organized.

My Notes
One of the things I've loved most about the Rachel by Nat & Nin is how easy it has been to style with my fall wardrobe.
I've been wearing it mostly with denim and cozy layers, mixing the rich brown suede with creams, chocolate browns, and soft blues. I especially love it with a simple knit and jeans or an oversized blue shirt, where the suede adds just enough texture and warmth to the outfit.
I'm also really looking forward to styling it with more of my coats and knits as the weather cools down. I can already see it working beautifully with trench coats, wool coats, chunky sweaters, and some of the more layered looks I wear throughout autumn and winter.
I also love that the Rachel has a softer, more relaxed silhouette while still maintaining enough structure to feel polished. It gives me something a little different from some of the more structured handbags in my collection, while still feeling very much in line with my personal style.
The suede feels soft and substantial, the bag holds its shape beautifully, and all of the finishing details feel thoughtfully considered.
I especially love the magnetic clasp featuring the Nat & Nin logo. It's subtle and chic, and gives the bag a recognizable detail without feeling overly branded.

Final Thoughts
After featuring Nat & Nin in several of my handbag edits, I was really looking forward to experiencing one of the brand's bags for myself, and the Rachel has been such a lovely introduction.
My first impressions of the quality have been really positive. The suede feels beautiful, the construction feels substantial, and the details are thoughtfully finished.
The Ebène Suede version was also such an easy choice for me. The rich chocolate brown feels perfect for fall and works beautifully with so many of the colors and pieces already in my wardrobe.
I love the softer silhouette, the subtle hardware, and how naturally it has fit into the kind of outfits I've been wearing lately. I'm especially excited to keep styling it with more coats, knits, and layered looks as we move further into fall.
